ClimbOut is the UK's first queer climbing festival, creating a space that emphasises Accessibility and Queer Joy. After a successful first festival in 2023, we're back for 2024 with a longer festival over the late May bank holiday weekend.

To increase accessibility for those without access to private vehicles, ClimbOut is organising a shuttle coach from Manchester and Sheffield to Thornbridge. This is included in the ticket for bursary holders. It will be £20 for standard and pay-it-forward-tickets, and £10 for concessions. Details of the journey times can be found by clicking the drop-down for the associated item.

I am bringing an aid or sight guide and they will need additional accommodation

If you have a disability and require a non-climbing aid to come with you, your aid will be able to attend the festival for free. Please tick this box if they will need accommodation (the same accommodation as above) and coach transport (if you've chosen this) They will be able to join you on any courses as a support but participating beyond this will be at the discretion of the instructor, depending on ratios and safety.

Please choose any courses you would like to take part in. If you have chosen a standard or pay-it-forward ticket, the course cost is £65 per day. If you have chosen a concession ticket, the cost is £45 per day. If you have a bursary ticket, the course cost is included in the bursary ticket price.

If the courses that you are interested in are fully booked, you can join the waiting list after you have completed your purchase for a Festival Pass. Once payment has been completed the page will continue to your booking summary, with the option to join the waiting list. This is also accessible from the link in your confirmation e-mail.

You will not be able to swap courses unless you find someone to transfer your initial course bookings to.

I am an independent climber / I won't be climbing during the festival

Climbers who already have outdoor experience are very welcome to book a festival pass and enjoy the Peak without instruction. If you have selected any days without courses, please acknowledge that you will be climbing independently, and ClimbOut will not be responsible for your safety whilst climbing. Please bring the climbing equipment you would usually take for a day climbing. Alternatively, you may have opted to attend the festival for the social element alone and will not be climbing. Legal guardians of children will be supervising their under 18s.
